The full story…

Fit for Living was born out of a personal journey.

I grew up on adventures, the great outdoors and playing sports. As a kid when I was playing and running around outside I would get lost in the moment and this for me is when I was living most in alignment with my natural, athentic self.  Most of us as we grow up fall into society's systems and beliefs. I think one of the biggest reasons people feel out of balance and our mental and physical health is suffering, is due to this disconnection from our natural selves and the natural environment around us.

At school I struggled with concentration and focus for academia and later on in life, I found out that I am dyslexic and have ADHD. My love for sports and my interest in the human body led me to getting a job at a local leisure centre as a personal trainer, and my fitness career started from there.

I lived and worked in London working as a coach and in senior management roles for big brands like GYMBOX and Virgin Active and co-owned my own gym, The Foundry. Like many new business owners, I soon found myself juggling too many responsibilities, working long hours whilst trying to pursue my amateur boxing career.

I began boxing in my late twenties. Female boxing is only just taking off now and back then there were only two girls in my gym. We had to work twice as hard as the boys to be taken seriously. It paid off for a while but soon things started to fall apart. I was getting repeat injuries,  and eventually I suffered hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal (HPA) discfunction. This is where  the HPA axis shuts down due to chronic stress, which was caused by me overtraining and long work hours. I battled for months to slow down the training, and to try and address my work/life balance, but eventually, things got so bad I sold my business and went to Bali to take a break.

During my time in Bali, I surfed every day, did yoga, ate healthy meals without counting calories and worrying about making weight for fights and I started to feel good again.

The illness and stress I suffered was something I had seen in so many of the clients I had coached over the years. All at varying levels but in general, I saw many of my client’s frustrated, stressed,, unhappy and just on the treadmill not really living. What I had learned about rest and recovery led me on an explorative journey in mediation, breath-work, and eventually to me studying eco-psychology and counselling. Now in my forties I feel the best I have ever felt in my life and even managed to get back to boxing and turned professional this time.

Fit for Living has been shaped by my own personal journey and is a fully holistic coaching program for physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. We use the therapeutic benefits of nature as a vehicle to help you step away from your daily life, to pause, disconnect and reconnect. Whether you are looking to make a change, or you need a reset, or want a transformation, through 1:1 coaching or on a retreat it is my mission to positively improve your life on all levels and help you live the life you want.
