I’m Liz Barker, a personal trainer and former professional boxer with over 25 years’ experience helping people build strong, capable bodies and healthier, more balanced lives. I’ve also owned and run my own gym, so my coaching is grounded in real-world experience, not trends.

I’m based in Crouch End and work both in person and online with clients across Muswell Hill, Highgate, Hampstead, Primrose Hill and North London. My approach blends expert strength training, boxing-based conditioning, nutrition and wellbeing into a personalised system that fits around real life — not fitness fads.

Boxing is a powerful part of how I coach. It builds fitness, confidence, coordination and stress-release in a way very few other forms of training can — and it’s adapted for every level, from complete beginners to experienced athletes.

Strength training is also a core speciality, whether your goal is improving your physique, supporting long-term health and longevity, or building a body that feels strong and resilient in everyday life.

Whether you’re returning to exercise after time out, navigating stress or change, or simply want to feel fitter, stronger and more confident, I offer thoughtful, supportive coaching that helps you make progress you can actually sustain.

What does a session look like?

Strength training with weights, kettlebells and bodyweight

  • Boxing-based conditioning and pad work.

  • Mobility and movement to support how your body feels between sessions.

  • Guidance on nutrition, recovery and everyday habits.

  • Some sessions are more energetic and athletic, others slower and more restorative — it all depends on what you need that day.

My aim is always that you leave feeling worked, stronger and clearer, not drained or broken.
